Methodology First Term The students were guided to research one endangered animal in detail, (Courtesy www.think.com) and then use that information to create a 300-400 word report per person including the following information. v An attractive Title Page. v A detailed description of your chosen animal, including its scientific name, o\its physical characteristics, diet and behaviors. v A detailed drawing of your chosen animal. v A description and a drawing of its preferred habibat. v
A correctly drawn map of v An account if how it is that your animal has come to be endangered, whether through predators, introduced species or the effect of human impact on its environment. v The current action being taken to protect and preserve the animal |

Second Term v
Oral presentation and a written document designed to be a
summary if the information the students have researched for the report.
The students simplified the information and supported it with visual aids. |

Third Term The students scripted and performed role Plays in groups. The students feedback was divided into three categories: the preparation stage, the presentation stage and the learner’s overall impression regarding the activity gave them a chance to do group work and allowed much free interaction.. They enjoyed working together and took pride in their roles and wanted to give their best.. Throughout the presentation, they showed enthusiasm and a sense of fairness – listening to others in the group to express their views. The language skills being introduced was strengthened. They spoke more and more unselfconsciously as they progressed, not fearing that they made mistakes with grammar. The findings of the project are disseminated to the teachers of the school by displaying the documents in a booklet form. |
